Porthleven Beach

Porthleven beach starts by the village’s iconic Clock Tower, often shown on news items during the winter storms. At low tide, the beach stretches almost 3 miles to Gunwalloe Fishing Cove to the east.

Most of the beach is #dog-friendly, but during the summer months (from Easter Day to 1st October) the section by the #Clock #Tower and nearest the village is a dog-free zone. During the main summer holidays, the near section of the beach is patrolled by lifeguards.

Walking eastwards along or above the beach, you will come to the beautiful #Loe #Bar, a sandbar which divides the sea from the freshwater lake known as Loe #Pool. You can either continue walking on towards #Gunwalloe or head inland around the lovely wooded lake, and towards #Helston through #Penrose Estate, owned by the #National Trust.
