Three of us had a wonderful visit to St Michael's Mount Marazion last week. The weather was perfect, with a slight breeze, and the sun was beaming down on us....
Porthleven Food and Music Festival is an annual event well worth attending and April, when it is held, is also a great time for visiting #Porthleven. The #Gables is situated in the heart of the village and, unlike many other properties in Porthleven, it has off-road parking in the grounds of the property, whereas some of the more expensive holiday properties have their parking spots a few hundred metres away.
Porthleven Food and Music Festival 2019
This year’s Festival is held primarily on the weekend of the 27th and 28th April, although the music starts on Friday 26th April.
The Gables is ideally placed for guests to visit the Festival and we still have some availability in late April, so could accommodate guests who are interested. The Gables also accepts one dog, or two small dogs by prior arrangement. Porthleven is very dog-friendly too, with many establishments leaving bowls of fresh drinking water outside their properties.
If the Festival proves too much, then take a walk around this stunning area. In April, the woods will be swathed in bluebells and the cliffs will also be adorned with flowers. Nearby is Loe Bar and Loe Pool, a lake or “loe” in Cornish, which is separated from the sea by a sandbar, reputedly formed in the 1300’s.
I think that this village has everything, but then, we have lived here for the last 17 years and absolutely adore the place! We feel very blessed.
